Association of European Truffle Growers (ATE)
The Association of European Truffle Growers (ATE) is the entity that brings together the national federations of truffle growers from France, Italy, and Spain, with the purpose of strengthening international cooperation and promoting the sustainable development of truffle cultivation in Europe. Founded in 2025 in San Giovanni d’Asso (Tuscany, Italy), the ATE represents a milestone in the coordination of the European truffle sector, promoting common projects and consolidating a joint voice before the community institutions.
Registered in France, the ATE has its administrative headquarters in the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation European Mycological Institute (EMI), which provides scientific and technical support for the implementation of strategic initiatives and coordination between member countries.
The association is governed by a Board of Directors composed of representatives from each founding country and chaired by Michel Tournayre (France), accompanied by vice presidents from Spain, Italy, and France. In addition, the ATE recognizes the trajectory of key figures in European truffle cultivation through the designation of honorary members.
Open to the incorporation of new countries and entities, the ATE works to promote innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness in the sector, consolidating a collaboration platform that reinforces the economic, cultural, and environmental value of the truffle in the international context.
